In the heart of Tuscany, 15 min from Florence and 10 min from motorway, is located  Villa Le Piagge, an old house, dating back to the 17th century, belonged to Medici  family; In due corse, they used to go there because they went hunting in their own game reserve, that actually is a beautiful municipal park, named “Il Bargo”.

Near Villa le Piagge is situated an ancient little church called “Chiesa di S. Maria a Bonistallo”, which the inhabitants of Poggio a Caiano (the house’s place), reach by a “strada vicinale” (short-cut) adjoining this property. The road to arrive at Villa le Piagge is private, so the house is completely free-standing but not isolated, because in a couple of minutes you can reach “Poggio a Caiano”, where there are supermarkets, banks, the post office, chemist’s shops and every kind shops.

An authomatic gate opens on to a private area surrounded by olive trees, where you can park you cars; a second gate opens on to a beautiful court and to a well-tended garden with its secular cypresses.

The garden is all around the house and next to “Il Bargo” park; here and there, your attention will be drawn to various old stone fountains and certainly to the magnificent view over the city and especially over the “Brunelleschi’s” dome. The court is also equipped with a covered portico with pizza-oven and garden furnishings.

Entering the main door on your left, you find two communicating rooms used as office (with phone, computer and internet); here on old stone fireplace will warm you. Near the office lies a big bathroom with shower and the narrow staircase to get to the wonderful private wine cellar.

On the ground level, characterized by terracotta floor, is situated a very luminous living room with antique furniture and TV (and also a comfortable sofa-bed for your guests); from here you arrive at a relaxing lounge with a marble fireplace (there is an armchair-bed too). Both this rooms have a French window leading to the garden and to the portico before mentioned.

Walking through the lounge you arrive at the particular well equipped kitchen and from here at a very big dining room, with a table for 12 and a bbq. This room has a French door fronting a nice little court. Next to the dining area is a narrow passage with a little bath and a provided laundry/storeroom with a back door on the outdoor.

In front of the main door, two short majolica stairways leading to an elegant bathroom with Jacuzzi and shower (some guests have to share it ) and to four pretty double bedrooms: one boasts a wonderful view over the Brunelleschi’s dome; the second one overlooks the landscape; another fronts the garden and the last, the biggest one, has a big bathroom (tub) and its own wardrobe en-suite.

Only few steps to reach a storeroom and an enchanting dove-coat commanding idyllic view all over the area. Downstairs, another little staircase arrives at a wonderful big terrace and at a passage leading to the opposite wing af the house, where are located two bedrooms, both with bathroom en-suite (shower) fronting on to the garden.

In this passage, a wooden spiral staircase goes to a very, very large mansard composed of two big rooms and a very little bathroom (this area can be provided with two double beds if there are children travelling with you). Here a nice terrace enjoys a particular view over Florence.

The same staircase leads to the dining area, so your privacy is assured as if this wing is independent of the rest of the house.

Villa “Le Piagge” is, on various levels, with short sets of a few steps each, connecting the various flats to each other, so it’s not suitable for people with handicap. The interior decoration is simple but comfortable, is for people who appreciate simplicity, not those who need grandeur. The elegant Golf Club “Le Pavoniere”, the riding ground and the beautiful park “Le Cascine” are easy to reach.

“Da Delfina” restaurant is 10 min far. Our guests will find, if they want, a wine list to taste what the private wine cellar reserves and to enjoy better the magical spell of your relaxing vacation.
